New York native Steven Feder translated his passion for athletic competition as a college and semi-pro basketball player into a passion for the creative arena.
After joining The Manhattan Punch Line Theater Company Steven began performing stand up comedy in numerous New York clubs. He was then invited to join The Creative Actors Repertory Theater where he performed, directed and produced company productions.
Using his financing skills honed from five years in the merger and acquisition business, Steven then founded Black Sheep Entertainment. Under his new production banner he produced numerous off-Broadway productions including Savage In Limbo, Sexual Perversity in Chicago, Danny And The Deep Blue Sea, and Speed The Plow.
Moving to Los Angles, Steven went on to produce and co-write "The Big Gig". This critically acclaimed film won three International Grand Prize Awards including the coveted Audience Award at The Hamptons International Film Festival before being released on HBO's Behind the Scenes.
Steven followed by writing, producing, and directing the Dramatic Feature Jury Prize-winning film "The Cottonwood". The film's cast included Cynthia Nixon, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Gia Carides, Tony Sirico, and Stacy Edwards. The film was featured on Showtime's The Best of Independent Film Directors Cut Series.
Steven next wrote, directed and produced the romantic comedy "It Had To Be You", starring Natasha Henstridge and Michael Vartan, distributed worldwide by Regent Entertainment and Lions Gate Films.
As a professional screenwriter and "script doctor" Steven has been involved in the development of projects in nearly every genre.
In addition to Steven's continued love of writing, producing and directing, his company mandate is to help other filmmakers see their vision by assisting with casting, packaging, and financing.
